Perfectly in sync with the ever-growing trend for coffee consumption, Italian specialist appliance manufacturer, Smeg, are releasing an intelligent-technology coffee machine into the New Zealand market in the new year.
The CMSC45 Linea coffee machine can deliver five different strengths of coffee, will adapt quantity of liquid to cup size, can vary the temperature of its coffee according to taste, will automatically rinse the internal line to the milk nozzle after each use, and gives LCD displays in nine different languages!
This brand new offering from Smeg is part of the company’s new design oeuvre — truly sleek, simple lines, translucent polycarbonate control knobs and extremely intuitive in its control and operation. The Linea CMSC45 has a reduced height of 45cm, is designed to be integrated into existing cabinetry and is available in brushed stainless steel.
The more technical specifications of the appliance include an excellent 15 bar pump pressure, a dedicated hot water function for tea and other hot drinks, 220g coffee bean container and a 1.8 litre capacity water tank.
Being Italian in both design and manufacture, its frothing ability is first class — very creamy with a complete absence of any large bubbles. The integrated grinder operates at a minimal sound level, the milk is heated to the desired 65 – 70°C (any higher and it will burn) and the machine can be programmed to turn on and be ready for action the moment you stagger out of bed!
Further convenience factors are its fan cooling system (to ensure adjacent cabinetry remains cool), an easy-clean drip tray and two halogen lights for shadow-free operation.
